Youth Organizing to Fight Racism and War
Students Transforming and Resisting Corporations (STARC) holds its summer conference from Aug. 9-12 at Middle Tennessee State University. STARC is a democratic youth network building resistance to the war on people of color in the United States and in the Middle East. STARC has endorsed the civil rights boycott of Cincinnati. Raise Your Voices for Survivors of Sexual Abuse
VOICES in Action, Inc., a non-profit organization for adult survivors of child sexual abuse, holds its 20th annual International Conference July 11-14 at the Clarion Hotel & Suites on Pfeiffer Road at I-275 in Blue Ash. The conference, titled "Crossroads to Healing: From Trauma to Restoration," will include speakers, workshops, bookstore, a stage play, survivor's art show and more. Re-Humanize Your Life
EarthSave Cincinnati hosts Bruce Levine, psychologist and author, at 6 p.m. July 21 at St. John's Unitarian Church, in Clifton. Levine's theme is, "Commonsense Rebellion: Debunking Psychiatry, Confronting Society and Re-humanizing Our Lives." Take a vegetarian (preferably vegan) dish to share. Youth Need Mentors
The Cincinnati Youth Collaborative seeks adults throughout the Tristate to serve as mentors or tutors for students in the Cincinnati Public Schools.
