Rallying for Wal-Mart Reforms
The AFL-CIO has endorsed the National Day of Action against Wal-Mart. Local activists rally at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wal-Mart store at 3430 Highland Ave., Columbia Township. The event kicks off the People's Campaign for Justice at Wal-Mart, which accuses the company of paying wages paid that are too low and doing business with foreign countries and suppliers that commit human rights abuses. Activist Seeks Witnesses to Arrest

Garry, who was charged with assaulting a police horse and obstructing official business, is scheduled for trial Friday in Hamilton County Municipal Court.

Teach-In about Iraq
The Ad Hoc Anti-War Committee presents a teach-in at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 300 of Braunstein Hall at the University of Cincinnati. Speakers discusss the background on Iraq, Middle Eastern perspectives, the politics of oil and the anti-war movement. A discussion follows. Film Highlights Environmental Abuses
The Miami Group of the Sierra Club premieres Poisoning Our Neighbors: the Faces of Environmental Injustice in Cincinnati, followed by a panel discussion of community members and activists. The showing is at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Tower Room of the downtown Cincinnati Public Library.

Join Women in Black
Women in Black, a weekly silent vigil to protest violence in Cincinnati and in wars throughout the world, meets from 5-6 p.m. Mondays on the grassy island on Central Parkway near Vine Street. Animal Welfare for Dinner
EarthSave Cincinnati presents a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Unitarian Church in Clifton. The theme is "Corporate Globalization: Trading Away Our Right to Protect Animals." The featured speaker is Michael Greger, M.D., who will share his research about the effects global trade agreements have on animals.
