So you attended theater for a whole season in 2009-2010, and now you’d like to see how your judgments stack up against others. You can do that at Know Theatre on Sunday evening when CityBeat presents the 14th annual Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. There will be lots of opinions reflected: There are 18 categories voted on by the public (maybe you went online to do that yourself) and another 10 “Critical Achievement” awards decided by local critics, including the season’s outstanding musical and play.

Doors at Know (1120 Jackson St., Over-the-Rhine) open at 6 p.m.

Stop by Know’s “Underground” bar for a drink, appetizers from Washington Platform and socializing with actors, directors and other theater professionals. The awards presentation begins at 7 p.m. and includes a recognition of Aubrey Berg, chair of the musical theater program at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music. Berg’s 23 years of leadership at CCM made him the choice of the League of Cincinnati Theatres for its annual Continuing Achievement Award; that designation puts him in the CEA Hall of Fame. (Read Rick Pender's interview with Berg here.)

If you enjoy local theater, this event is a great chance to check out who’s doing great work and where you might want to invest your entertainment budget in the future. The event is free.
