Ian Bagg continues to prove he is a true citizen of the English-speaking world. The Los Angeles-based comic, born to a Canadian father and an Australian mother, is soon to be wed to a girl from Virginia Beach, Va. "When I asked her mom if I could marry her she asked what my back-up plan was," Bagg says. "I’ve been doing comedy so long I didn't realize what she was talking about, so I said 'Ask another girl.' " Bagg does have other interests besides comedy.
He is also a diehard Vancouver Canucks fan, and he will arrive in town either very happy or very sad, depending on the outcome of the Stanley Cup Finals. It's been a long drought for Bagg and his fellow Canucks fans. Indeed, they've never hoisted the cup. "I have a friend who is a San Jose Sharks fan and he was saying bad things about the Canucks," Bagg notes. "You can shut up right now. You've been in the league for 15 years; you always have a good team. Let me tell you about sucking wind for 40 years." Bagg performs Thursday-Sunday at The Funny Bone on the Levee in Newport Thursday-Sunday.
