In January 2010 Adam Easterling decided to start his first businessventure in the already crowded downtown lunch trade. Adam took a gamble, but he felt that if he took classics, gave them a fresh spin and used the best ingredients, his sandwich shop would succeed where others have failed. A year and a half later, and with a faithful following, his business at 633 Main St. is doing great.
Recently, Adam has been dabbling in gourmet hot dogs. He started a “Dog of the Week” featuring locally made hot dogs from Avril Bleh on Court Street and pairing them with never-before-seen combos.
As another way to please the downtown lunch-goers, Adam offers delivery service to anywhere in the central business district. For an order of about $40 and only a $1.50 delivery fee, your whole office can enjoy any of the sandwiches, salads or hot dogs on Lunch on Main’s
CityBeat: What was the last great meal that you ate and where was it?
Adam Easterling: A couple of weeks ago I ate at Otto’s on Main Street in Covington and really enjoyed their shrimp and grits. They make a blue cheese and bacon grit cake that is really good.
CB: With so many places downtown for lunch, how do you stand out from the crowd?
AE: We offer options that you don’t get anywhere else, like our Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese. I like to take staples and make them original. I try to fuse together different flavors and so far people
seem to be liking them.
