Pimpin’ ain’t easy, as they say … especially if what you happen to be pimping is a pumpkin. But that won’t stop the employees of Marsh, Inc., an independent strategic design agency, from taking over the Pendleton Arts Center with an exhibit of artfully designed pumpkins. These gourd canvases will be more than carved by the Marsh employees themselves — along with Pendleton artists, local artists and personnel from member companies of the 8th Street Design District.

The 2011 theme is “iSpyArt,” inspired by ArtsWave’s digital app iSpyArt, which reflects the art around us. Pumpkins will be judged on execution, creativity and material by a panel of judges including Aaron Betsky, director of the Cincinnati Art Museum; Brian Phillips, producing artistic director of the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company; and Amy Cribbs, co-founder of Family Friendly Cincinnati. Proceeds benefit ArtsWave. Pimpin' takes place 6-10 p.m. Friday.
