Origami isn’t the only way
to transform paper as an art medium. A new exhibit coming to the Phyllis Weston
Gallery explores the variety of ways paper can be used as a medium. Three
artists are featured, each with a different focus. Kim Burgas uses the human
figure as an object to show the juxtapositions of young and old, and the
ordinary and nobility. Terence Hammonds uses images from the Civil Rights
movement and pairs them with soul and funk music from the 1970s. The third
artist, Max Unterhaslberger, finds the unkempt buildings around Cincinnati full
of vivacious potential. Through May 5. Phyllis Weston Gallery, 2005 Madison
