When a troupe of pagliacci (clowns) pulls into town to put on a show, the drama turns personal — and deadly. That’s Pagliacci, part I of Cincinnati Opera’s opening double bill, followed by more recognizable and genuinely ridiculous clowns, the gold-digging Donati family in Puccini’s comic masterpiece, Gianni Schicchi. Cincinnati Opera’s annual Pride Night celebration in support of LGBT community follows Saturday night’s performance with a circus-themed party in Music Hall’s Corbett Tower. This year’s celebration honors former Cincinnati Opera board chair Cathy Crain as the Dabby Blatt Friend of Diversity. After Party starts at 10:30 p.m. but don’t miss the opera (7:30 p.m.) and Evans Mirageas’s pre-performance talk at 6:30. Saturday, June 16. Tickets: $25-$500. 513-241-2742. Cincinnati Opera. 1243 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine.  www.cincinnatiopera.org.
