It’s been quite a year for comedian Dave Waite, highlighted by an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
“That was the best day of my life,” Waite says. “It definitely helped.
It kind of solidified me as a headliner.” Waite, who has been living in
New York for the past two years, came back to Cincinnati in October, but
he’s not staying long.
He’s going to L.A., hoping to get more TV work,
and his stage persona suggests he might be perfect as the wacky
neighbor. “I’ll be as wacky as they need me to be if gets me on TV,” he
says. Before heading west, Waite will do his annual Christmastime set of
shows at Go Bananas. “I think this is the fourth year,” he says. “It’s
going to be a more of a regular show this time.” Mark Chalifoux, who
also moved to New York a few years back, will feature. “Mark’s really
come a long way since moving out to New York,” Waite notes. “Things are
going really well for him.” Chris Weir will MC. Others might drop by and
do guest sets, a Christmas treat indeed. $8-$12. Through Sunday Dec. 23. Go
Bananas, Montgomery. 513-984-9288, gobananascomedy.com.
