There are many situations that call for wine, including
but not limited to: girls’ nights, home breakup remedies, fancy
vineyard excursions, a bad day at work, a good day at work and,
evidently, to promote heart health. It turns out that moderate red wine
consumption is actually good for your heart, so Newport honors the
American Heart Association this American Heart Month with its 7th annual
Wine Walk, where you can peruse and booze your way through some Newport
mainstays and pick up some heart-healthy hors d’oeuvres around the way.
Participating venues include Brio Tuscan Grille, Claddagh Irish Pub,
Gameworks, Mitchell’s Fish Market, Naked Tchopstix, Jefferson Hall, Star
Lanes on the Levee and Stonebrook Winery.
Wear red to show your support
for heart health (and mask any wayward dribbles). 21 and up. $35 in
advance; $40 walk-up. Cash or check only accepted for walk-up tickets.
6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20. Newport on the Levee. 859-291-0550, newportonthelevee.com.
