You wouldn't think that the owner of a classy Korean restaurant would be thrilled to have a Wild West saloon move in next door, but Mark Jang thinks Deadwood is "neat." The owners have cleaned up the alley behind what was the old Army Surplus store, and it's nice enough now that Mark's been able to open a patio behind Riverside Korean Restaurant and expand his hours to include a special late-night menu from 10:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m.
on Friday and Saturday nights.
CityBeat:
CB: What's the Korean equivalent of sliders and Skyline -- you know, late night food when you've been drinking? MJ: Po jang ma cha. It's like street-vendor food, grilled. Ko chee, which is similar to a shish kebab with chicken, shrimp or grilled mussels. Or soup stock with Korean-style udon noodles. It soothes your stomach, and it's very good.
