
New lights are still being installed, with the official relighting scheduled for tonight to coincide with the Bengals-Steelers Monday Night Football broadcast.
Speaking of which, Fountain Square will be a beehive of activity starting at 4:45 this afternoon, with live music and tailgating leading up to the live football broadcast on the jumbotron video screen.
I detoured from my normal drive into work this morning to cross the Roebling Bridge, and the hum of the metal roadway on the car tires was a comfort as always. It always makes me think of the opening to The Afghan Whigs' excellent 1993 album Gentlemen — the first track "If I Were Going" features the hum of a car driving over the Roebling Bridge underneath the entire song.
