BRINK 2011
The Cincinnati Entertainment Awards ceremony is just a couple weeks away (deadline to vote for your favorite nominees is Friday at noon), but its sister event, BRINK: A New Music Showcase, returns for its 11th year this Saturday. Showcases for BRINK — created to give Greater Cincinnati’s new original bands some love and local music fans a leg up on potential next big local things — will take place in Northside clubs The Comet and Northside Tavern beginning at 9 p.m.
The showcases include some of this
year’s CEA nominees for New Artist of the Year, including The Tammy
WhyNots (playing 12:15 a.m. at The Comet), The Ready Stance (9:15
p.m. at The Comet), SHADOWRAPTR (11:30 p.m. in the Northside Tavern’s
back room) and Young Heirlooms (11 p.m. in the Tavern’s front
room).
Rounding out the bill at The Comet are Oui Si Yes (11:15 p.m.) and The Stealth Pastille (featuring former members of Pernicious Knifs; 9:15 p.m.). The Northside Tavern will also feature Vito Emmanuel (12:30 a.m.), Victoria Electric (10:30 p.m.) and Automagik (9:30 p.m.) in the back room; in the front room, Sea of StormsThe Apricots (9 p.m.) perform.
Admission to both venues is free.
