The Peawee Patch
Whether it’s wiggling their toes in the dirt, looking under leaves, or digging up worms, the garden cultivates a sense of wonder in children. As they plant seeds, protect their plants from weeds, and provide water for their growing flowers, fruits, and veggies, they develop nurturing skills and grow to have a sense of respect and care for all living creatures, even the ones that live under rocks! In the garden, students learn to work cooperatively with others, practice patience, and experience pride in their accomplishments. Each of our themed gardening classes opens with music, a story, a nature activity, then we’ll spend the remainder of our time out in the PeaWee Patch. Join us and watch your child’s love for nature blossom! Students should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for garden work and wear sunscreen and a hat.
