Awesome Color comes by their love of The Stooges and Detroit Rock honestly — guitarist/vocalist Derek Stanton grew up across the street from Ron Asheton, The Stooges' late voodoo guitar king — and the Michigan natives use that raw inspiration as the launching pad for their own take on the sound.
