The lineup for Sunday's "CityBeat Stage presented by Riverbend Summer 2010" features a stellar collection of national up-and-comers and local heroes: Headlining are The Hood Internet, a sort of a two-headed version of Girl Talk with more of an interest in Indie Rock who are based in Chicago; other acts include Visqueen from Seattle and locals You You're Awesome, Buckra and Daughters and Sons. The stage is located at Fifth and Race streets.  

Once upon a time, the Clifton area near the University of Cincinnati — much like the bustling music scenes centered around colleges across the country — was ground zero locally for original, creative music. in these parts. These days the neighborhood isn't quite Short Vine-in-the-'90s level, but the return of this weekend's Clifton Heights Music Festival is another hopeful step in making the area more consistently thriving with music.   

Northside Tavern hosts a party Friday to benefit the local Save Our Strays (SOS) animal rescue. Local bands Buckra, Daughters & Sons and Nathan Holscher & the Ohio 5 perform their standards as well as tracks from the new SOS album, 'Free Lap Dances Volume 5: Friends With Benefits.'
