The trend of cool, new bands naming their groups something so generic and random it’s impossible to Google is all well and good, but can we at least all agree that if you give your band such a moniker, you cannot bitch about other people using the same phrase or word to sell shit?

Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart recently told Rolling Stone the band has long resisted offers to license its image to sell products, saying “You didn’t want to turn the Dead into a knickknack-trinket business.” But, he added, “Times and attitudes have changed.”

Back in the late 1960s, the Ludlow Garage was at the heart of the day's Woodstock-heavy music world. A 40th anniversary tribute is scheduled Friday night at the Cincy Blues Fest, and a live two-CD/one-DVD set called 'Still Truckin' of live recordings is set for release — a must-have for music lovers of the period.
