Director David Bowers takes over the latest adaptation in Jeff Kinney's best-selling children's illustrated series and crafts a movie that plays like a fractured half-hour television series instead of a full-fledged big-screen endeavor. Grade: D.
Honeymoon thrills detour down a sinister path for an eager couple (Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich) in Hawaii as they encounter two other pairs, one of which might have murderously cruel intentions. Even the most brain-dead audience members will anticipate the twist in store. Grade: D.
Steve Zahn again brings his doofus routine to this spare, character-driven piece that suffers from a serious case of tonal imbalance. Writer/director Stephen Belber's off-kilter comedy feels uncommonly slight, which probably shouldn't be a surprise — it's based on his own one-act play. Grade: C.
