April 17 is Record Store Day, so be sure to support your local independent music retailers. If you're a fan of local Electro/Indie/Folk/Pop wonders The Seedy Seeds, you'll definitely want to stop by Shake It Records in Northside, where they'll close out the store's Record Store Day with a performance at 9 p.m. You can also pick up a copy of The Seedys' new three-song, 7-inch vinyl release being issued by Shake It's label division.

The perfect chance to check the band out comes this weekend with the release of a gorgeous CD/DVD package, 'Live @ The Southgate House.' Ironically, the band will be playing its release party Friday at York Street Cafe.

If you did the zombie dress-up thing for Halloween and grew so attached you want to sport your costume again this weekend, you'd probably fit right in at Covington's Molly Malone's this Friday. That's when local singer/songwriter Beau Alquizola puts on the show "Dead Musicians Society," his annual benefit for the local Stop AIDS organization that features local bands covering their favorite deceased artists.  

Media Bridges Hosts a Free Riot, MidPoint Indie Summer Wraps Up

Community media center Media Bridges is turning 20 years old and this Saturday it's time to celebrate its past and support its future. "Free Wave Riot: Celebrating 20 Years of Local Music, Local Voices, Local Media" is a benefit concert at Know Theatre to help get its new FM radio station off the ground this fall.
