Opening on the Northern Kentucky University campus a few days after America’s 233rd birthday, I Love a Piano is a reminder of things good, right and foursquare. Irving Berlin wrote tuneful, good-hearted and, well, all-American music.   

Wake the Bear — a.k.a. one-man-band Scott Cunningham — celebrates the release of his third album, Player Piano, this Saturday at the Northside Tavern. Dan Mecher of Turnbull ACs opens the free show, Cunningham plays in the middle (with his unique loop-and-sample-centric set-up) and new pop rockers The Mighty close the night.  

Some of them seem so obvious, you‘re like, ‘How could I have not seen that before?’ Of course, before you were engaged in discovering something else.” The unknowns are slightly more plentiful. This performance will be Pratt’s debut with the CCO and Music Director Mischa Santora.
