Expect a jam-packed fall season with a variety of colorful shows from the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, Taft Museum of Art, the Alice F. and Harris K. Weston Gallery, Carl Solway Gallery, Country Club, Manifest Creative Research Gallery and the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center.  

Judy Pfaff's current exhibition of large-scale collaged works and small prints seems to continue an abiding interest that Carl Solway Gallery has in highly accomplished, mid-career artists who favor abstract interpretations of nature through a variety of approaches.   

There's much to say about legendary modern dancer/choreographer Merce Cunningham, but above all he's a well-rounded, thoroughly modern guy. Carl Solway Gallery is hosting 'A Tribute to Merce Cunningham in His 90th Year,' a smallish but worthy assembly of Cunningham's drawings, photos of the artist and in-depth documentaries shown on flat screens.   

It seems possible that the four concurrent exhibitions now presented at Carl Solway Gallery are meant to link abstract artists from the past to two contemporary artists who grapple with abstraction, color, humanity and nature. I wish there were more show-stoppers to see, but the four artists provide ample visuals for consideration.
