The only consistency in the Meat Puppets' catalog during the band's nearly 30-year history is the consistent shift in their sonic identity.  

"MDC" means a lot of things. Using each record to interpret their name differently, the acronym of the Austin, Texas-bred band has stood for everything from Millions of Dead Cops to Metal Devil Cokes.  

First of all, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head is a brilliantly evocative name. Who doesn't get that picture? But does it capture the band's sound?  

"It's not for everyone," says Mark "Barney" Greenway about the music made by Napalm Death, the stalwart English quartet he's been fronting since 1990.  

The word Ska conjures up differing responses, and many are sadly negative. Whether through sub-par bands or knee-jerk reactions against the genre's '80s commercialization, the mere mention of Ska rubs some people the wrong way. To that end, The Pinstripes have a mission.  

It's almost impossible to believe that the Dwarves began their perverted Punk march more than 20 years ago in a Chicago garage as a psychedelic Paisley Underground band called Suburban Nightmare.
