This Sunday, Moonbeau — the Indie/Electronic Pop project featuring Christian Gough of Cincinnati Indie Rock band The Yugos — will perform at the 20th-anniversary Cincinnati Entertainment Awards show at Memorial Hall. Moonbeau is up for a CEA in the Electronic category, while The Yugos are nominated for Indie/Alternative, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year (for the superb Weighing the Heart). Like Gough’s “other band,” Moonbeau — which also includes singer Claire Muenchen — had a very productive 2017. The duo released its first single, “Are We in Love Yet?” (which was featured on MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show) through locally-based Old Flame Records, finished recording its debut full-length and played at the MidPoint Music Festival and Fountain Square’s summertime Indie music series.

Today Moonbeau releases a great new single, “In Your Lifetime,” which is more evidence that its forthcoming album slated for release on Old Flame will lead to an even better year in 2018 (that this track and "Are We In Love Yet?" are merely "bonus" cuts — as the band clarified on Twitter — makes the full-length's possibilities even more enticing). The song is another excellent showcase for Moonbeau’s ability to blend a rich, swoony New Romantic vibe with majestic ’80s synth riffs (a la New Order) and killer hooks.
