Electric scooter company Bird wants to honor community members who are going above and beyond to serve and support their cities through the coronavirus pandemic with their newest Local Heroes program.

"Every day, essential workers are on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 to ensure that critical services are continued at a time when more than 33% of the world is on lockdown. That deserves our thanks, and our support," Bird said in a press release. "To honor these individuals, the team at Bird has created a Local Heroes program allowing people to nominate workers and volunteers in their communities who are playing a crucial role in the fight against the current global health crisis."

You can nominate local community heroes by filling out a form on the Bird site, and the company will post about them on their social media channels and website in the coming weeks.

They will also choose a select number of nominees to receive a free Bird One scooter to help them on their missions to serve.
