As life slowly returns to a new post-pandemic "normal," Bird scooters have migrated back to the Queen City. They were removed because of COVID-19 safety concerns.
The Bird scooters returned to Cincinnati streets on June 12, and to more than 60 other cities across the world.
"A growing list of cities, states and countries are looking to micromobility alternatives, such as scooters and bikes, not only as a means of minimizing congestion but also as a way to maintain current social distancing norms," a press release from Bird reads.
The company is utilizing their personal transportation systems to offer free rides to health care workers and emergency personnel, with two free 30-minute rides a day. In order to partake, you can sign up by sending a copy of your medical ID, name and phone number to [email protected].
They also have implemented a feature on their scooters for new riders called the Bird Warm Up Mode, which offers a gentle acceleration option for a smooth ride.
