Even though Riverfest is canceled this year, the WEBN/Western & Southern annual Labor Day fireworks refuse to have their spark put out that easily.
The 44th event is happening in spite of COVID, with the pyrotechnic display being detonated at a top secret location and broadcast live on Local 12 and their Facebook page. The Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks show will start at 9:07 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6.

That means Greater Cincinnatians can experience half this end-of-summer tradition, without worrying about contracting the coronavirus from thousands upon thousands of strangers crammed shoulder-to-shoulder on the banks of the Ohio River.
An event write-up on iHeartRadio reads, "Due to COVID-19, we are unable to hold our annual Riverfest gathering at Sawyer Point Park and Yeatman's Cove. The safety and heath our our community was paramount to us, so in the interest of all involved, we will wait until 2021 to gather at the river. But, we will still shoot off Fireworks this year! Fireworks will be launched a secret secret location, so stay home and watch the broadcast from Channel 12!!"
WEBN is also still selling T-shirts to commemorate this year's event at participating Kroger locations.
