Grabbing a drink with your pals after a hard day's work is almost always a good idea. When the proceeds from that drink benefit your local pet rescue, that good idea becomes a great one.

Queen City Radio will host a pet adoption/fundraiser on Thursday (Aug. 2) with funds benefiting the local pet adoption agency SPCA. QCR is pairing up with Breckenridge Brewing and Watershed Distilling in order to donate portions of select beers and cocktails throughout the day, as part of their Tap Feature Nights series. The featured cocktail is called "The GINger," and is made with Watershed Gin, sour mix, ginger simple syrup and lemon bitters. The tap features will include Breckenridge Brewing's Mango Mosaic, Summer Pils, Hop Peak and White Ale. 50 cents from every featured beer and $1 from the featured cocktail will be donated to SPCA.

In addition to the beverage fundraiser, the adoption agency will have their SPCA mobile unit on location with adoptable pets you can meet.

5-7 p.m. Aug 2. Queen City Radio, 222 W 12th St., OTR. For more info, click here.
