NBC's athletic competition TV show American Ninja Warrior is coming to Cincinnati in May.

The show, which features athletic-type people tackling assorted obstacles, will be filming a qualifying round for an upcoming season from May 18-27. There will be a live taping of the show at The Banks downtown (Film Cincinnati has scouted an obstacle course site along Second Street) at 8 p.m. May 24 and May 25.

Cincinnati is one of only six cities to host qualifying rounds before the Warrior 11 finals in Las Vegas.

“We could not be more excited to have American Ninja Warrior come to downtown Cincinnati and show off the city to the entire country,” said Kristen Schlotman, executive director of Film Cincinnati, in a release. “The show has such a tremendous following and we’re honored to have the ninjas and their fans come to town.”

Applications for the regional qualifying rounds were due Jan. 2, so if you didn't apply to ninja your way through the streets of the Queen City, you can still watch other people do so. Sign up to join the waitlist to be in the live audience here.
