Calling all Rookwood Pottery collectors: Expert art pottery appraiser Riley Humler of PBS series Antiques Roadshow will return to Over-the-Rhine's Rookwood Pottery in celebration of the iconic local business's 140th anniversary.

The flagship store, located at 1920 Race St., will host a complimentary appraisal event with Humler from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25.

According to a release from Rookwood, Humler, a Cincinnati resident since 1987, worked as an appraiser for Antiques Roadshow for more than two decades and often conducts lectures regarding American Art Pottery.

"Formerly the Gallery Director for Cincinnati Art Galleries, Humler conducted auctions featuring Rookwood for 20 years prior to leading auctions at his company, Humler & Nolan," the release explains.

Visitors are invited to bring their Rookwood heirlooms and pieces to the store for a free valuation on a first-come, first-served basis. Humler, who is now the director of ceramics for Toomey & Company Auctioneers in Chicago, will be conducting the appraisals.

According to the Rookwood's website, their photographer will be present at the event to take photos of guests, Humler and their Rookwood items.
