Art on Vine is returning to Fountain Square for another round of showcasing local artists and their wares.

Art on Vine began in 2012 as a class project for a college course that James Jenkins was taking, with the intent of being a way to provide a unique, customer-to-artist buying experience. After pitching his idea to business after business, and roping in his friend and classmate Page Lansley, Art on Vine had its first event in an OTR parking lot with only eight artists. At the time, the artist fees went toward the Over Rhine Community Housing. Now, Art on Vine hosts over 70 local artists and looks to work with a different nonprofit every month.

Artists that participate in Art on Vine get the chance to build relationships with returning customers and fellow artists, have a monthly platform for selling their art and insider intel into upcoming arts events.

Upcoming Art on Vine fairs are scheduled noon-6 p.m. May 9, June 6, July 4, Aug. 8 and Sept. 5 at Fountain Square (520 Vine St., Downtown).

Current COVID safety precautions include:

  1. Vendors and shoppers need to wear a mask or face covering.
  2. People are asked to wash and sanitize their hands as often as possible.
  3. Respect six feet of social distance.
  4. Stay home if you don't feel well.
  5. All vendors must have hand sanitizer and disinfectant for use, and must wipe off their payment equipment.
  6. The amount of customers in each booth should be monitored.
  7. Guests should sanitize their hands before browsing or touching products.
