ArtWorks' newest mural depicts a new Cincinnati summer staple: taking a dip at Over-the-Rhine's Ziegler Pool.

A partnership between ArtWorks and 3CDC, a press release states that the colorful mural "builds community pride through the beautification of the pool's walls." Designed by local artist Andrew Neyer, the project was funded by the Carol Ann & Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation.

Cartoon creatures populate the design: a smiling hippo lazes; a rhino — the Ziegler swim team's mascot — cannonballs, closely followed by lizard on the diving board; a frog kicks back to music; an otter waits patiently in line; a mouse sits perched atop a doggo's head.

ArtWorks's team of youth apprentices and teaching artists have been working throughout the spring on the mural and tomorrow they'll celebrate its completion with the first dedication of the year for an ArtWorks murals. The event will take place Thursday, June 13 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Ziegler Pool. Speaking at the event will be Christy Samad, senior vice president of event management at 3CDC; Barbara Hauser, P&G Cincinnati Community Relations; and mural artist Andrew Neyer.

Ziegler Pool is located at  Ziegler Park, 1322 Sycamore St., Over-the-Rhine.
