Broadway in Cincinnati brings Fiddler on the Roof to the Aronoff with a new production featuring fresh movement and dance from Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter, based on the original staging by Jerome Robbins.

The Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical tells the “heartwarming story of fathers and daughters, husbands and wives, and the timeless traditions that define faith and family.”

The story follows Tevye as he tries to maintain his Jewish cultural and religious identity in 1905 Imperial Russia as three of his five head-strong daughters attempt to marry for love instead of tradition in a world where the Tsar is evicting Jews from the village.

The orchestra brings hits like “If I Were a Rich Man” and “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” to life in this celebratory masterpiece.

Jan. 15-27. Tickets start at $31. Aronoff Center, 650 Walnut St., Downtown, cincinnatiarts.org.
