Burritofest at The Comet in Northside Promises Two Days of Live, Local Music

On May 13 and 14, local bands and comedians spanning a variety of genres will take the stage both inside the bar and outside in the grotto.

Burritofest at The Comet will feature multiple local bands

Burritofest, a music festival at Northside bar The Comet, "intends to give patrons a little bit of several different ingredients... much like the burrito itself," according to a release.

On May 13 and 14, local bands and comedians spanning a variety of genres will take the stage both inside the bar and outside in the grotto. Promising "a nonstop musical experience unlike any other in town," this pay-what-you-can show will give each band or individual the stage for 30 minutes.

All money collected will go to the bands and performers.

In terms of the namesake burritos — which The Comet is known for — Burritofest creator and director Tim Miller tells CityBeat via email: "There will be two special salsas and a special burrito created by The Comet's kitchen for that weekend only."

Burritofest takes place 6 p.m.-midnight on May 13 and 5 p.m.-midnight on May 14 at The Comet, 4579 Hamilton Ave., Northside. More info: facebook.com.
