The Kroger Wellness Festival is a multi-day event that "celebrates a holistic approach to healthy living," per a release. But it also brings a haul of celebrity fitness stars, musicians, chefs and more to Cincinnati.
With a similar name and mission to another health-focused festival — the Wellness Experience Festival, which was co-founded by singer/songwriter Jewel in 2018 — organizers say this 2022 Kroger Wellness Festival is a whole new event. It will take over The Banks on Sept. 23 and 24 with experiences focusing on the "six core pillars of transformation: balance, move, breathe, care, uplift, and play," per a description.
There will be cooking demonstrations, product samples, a Kroger farmers market, panels with industry experts on different aspects of well-being, live music, family fun and fitness events.
Grammy-winner Carrie Underwood is the big draw in the workout category. She'll be leading a class with her trainer, Eve Overland, on Sept. 24.
Other sporty stars slated to appear and lead sessions include Love Squad founder Ally Love, Olympic Gold medalist Dominique Dawes and body builder Allison Warrell.
Bravo Top Chef Brian Malarkey will be one of the star culinary guests.
And bands Fitz and The Tantrums and the Eli Young Band will headline the live music stages.
In addition to spotlighting wellness trends, the fest also acts as a way for Kroger to share info about its various health and sustainability initiatives.
“As America’s grocer, our festival pillars coincide with our goal of offering the best resources for holistic well-being to the public,” Colleen Lindholz, president of Kroger Health, says in a release. “We look forward to inspiring thousands to begin a new wellness journey with support from leading brands, guest health experts, entertainers, and more.”
The Kroger Wellness Festival takes place 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 23 and 24 at The Banks, downtown. Admission is free. For more info and updates, visit kroger.com.
