Do you spend an inordinate amount of time scrolling through adorable animal videos on social media? See the feline-centric cream of the crop at the CatVideoFest this weekend.

Screening at both the Esquire and Mariemont theatres, the film is described as a "compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and classic internet powerhouses."

The movie lasts 70 minutes and is family-friendly.

An international event, the CatVideoFest does screenings at theaters around the world, all to benefit local cat rescues and animal welfare organizations.

Cincinnati's CatVideoFest events will raise funds via a portion of ticket sales for The Scratching Post in Silverton, a self-described nonprofit "no-kill, no-cage shelter for stray and abandoned cats."

The CatVideoFest screens 1 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Esquire Theatre, 320 Ludlow Ave., Clifton and 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Mariemont Theatre, 6906 Wooster Pike, Mariemont. Tickets are $10 and available at esquiretheatre.com or mariemonttheatre.com.
