Architecture meets movement in Radouan Mriziga's 7, which gets its North American premiere this weekend at downtown's Contemporary Arts Center.

A Moroccan choreographer and dancer, Mriziga's performance is the final installment in a trilogy of works he has developed that utilize "gestures and actions of construction to generate dance," according to its description. It will unfold at the CAC with two showings: 8-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9  and 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10. Adapted specifically with CAC's lobby and Black Box performance theater in mind, it promises to "embrace" the center's unique architectural elements. Six dancers and one musician will make up 7; the title being a reference to the seven wonders of the world as they relate to the human body.

As the performance progresses, the description says it will provoke shifts in audience members' own perceptions of space. If you miss the CAC dates, 7 will take place next weekend at Columbus's Wexner Center for the Arts.
