The USS Nightmare is docking in Newport for another spooky season full of spine-tingling thrills and frights. The haunted steamboat’s Capt. William S. Mitchell and his crew of ghastly ghouls are waiting to greet you when it opens for boarding Friday, Sept. 15.

The ship’s immersive sets, chilling soundscapes and visual effects promise an experience that will linger in your nightmares, the crew says. New this year, the experience will be delving deeper into the boat’s mysterious inhabitants and the factions that haunt its corridors. You’ll uncover dark secrets and mysteries while you explore the ship’s depth and hidden passages and try to escape unscathed. The USS Nightmare will also have expanded RIP Experience Rooms, immersive, hands-on experiences where you can test your bravery.

The USS Nightmare will be open Fridays and Saturdays from Sept. 15-24. Starting Sept. 28, the haunted ship will be open Thursday through Sunday, with a family-friendly, lights-on matinee on Sunday, Oct. 22 and special early-week shows on Monday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 31. The season will close out with intense Captain Extreme Shows on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 3-4.

Tickets can be bought online or at the box office on the day of the event, and prices vary based on experiences and packages.
