Things are getting strange at the 21c Museum Hotel for a spooky Secret Garden party in the Upside Down.
Travel back in time to the summer of 1985 and step inside the world of Stranger Things with projections from C. Jacqueline Wood, music from DJs Northside Nick and PXVCE and free makeup application from local professionals.
There will also be "serendipitous performances" by dance groups Heroes Rise and DANCEFIX, which will "bring the dance floor wherever you are from the sidewalk to centerstage, emulating popular dance crazes of the era while lifeguard go-go dancers keep watch."
Art Academy of Cincinnati students have also reimagined some BLINK installations from local artist Pam Kravetz, which will be on display "to fit the 21c Museum Hotel space and add to the otherworldly ambiance in the 2nd floor gallery."
Costumes are highly encouraged; a judged costume contest will take place with prizes for winners. Cash bar. Must be 21+.
9 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Free; $10 suggested donation for ACLUOhio and the Art Academy of Cincinnati. 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati, 609 Walnut St., Downtown, facebook.com/21cCincinnati.
