Krohn Conservatory in Eden Park has been named one of the most "instagrammable" greenhouses in the world by Uswitch, some British company that appears to offer online and telephone comparison services for people looking to switch their providers but also offers "top" lists like this one.
This top 20 collection lists the most instagrammable greenhouses from around the world based on "notable greenhouses according to Wikipedia" and Uswitch's own research, which they then ranked according to the amount of hashtags each one had received on the social media platform.
According to their methodology, Krohn had 11,741 hashtags on Instagram and came in at No. 11 on the list.
For the write-up, they say: "More than just a greenhouse, Krohn Conservatory often hosts weddings and other private events. Opening in 1933, 33 years later it was subjected to a hailstorm where it received extensive damage. After this, its original wood was replaced with aluminium." (We would call that "aluminum.")
The most instagrammable greenhouse in the world is The Eden Project in Cornwall, England (189,643 hashtags), and bookending Krohn at No. 10 and No. 12, respectively, are The Lincoln Park Conservatory in Chicago (with 13,129 hashtags) and Biosphere 2 by the University of Arizona (10,914 hashtags), a self-sufficient biodome meant to mimic Earth.
Krohn Conservatory has reopened to the public after closing because of COVID-19 restrictions and is currently exhibiting its summer floral show, Growing a Rainbow, featuring arched beds with rainbow-colored flowers. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children 5-17. Guests are required to wear masks and social distance.
Krohn is located at 1501 Eden Park Drive in Eden Park. More info: cincinnatiparks.com/krohn.
