Clifton's Esquire Theatre is well-known for its movie offerings, from mainstream and foreign to special themed events and midnight screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
It's also about to be known for dollar beers.
While many events are being canceled, postponed or rescheduled due to the current coronavirus outbreak, the Esquire Theatre is maintaining its screening schedule, saying, "For now, all of our theaters will continue to operate normally. Should the situation change or state and local officials recommend changes in public gatherings, we will re-evaluate."
The Esquire's coronavirus update page lists the ways the theater is prioritizing the health and well-being of its patrons during this outbreak, but it also lists a sweet-ass deal:
"Our doors are open and we hope to continue to provide a place to escape into the world of film during this stressful time. While at the theatres, we welcome you to enjoy $1.00 Coronas available at the Bar. It’s not the cure, but our way of saying thank you for coming out to the movies."
Upcoming special screenings include:
- Several Saint Patrick's Day-related films including Leprechaun on March 13 and 14
- A Bong Joon-Ho series March 20-24 screening Barking Dogs Never Bite, The Host and Snowpiercer
- Memento on April 1
The Esquire is located at 320 Ludlow Ave., Clifton, esquiretheatre.com.
