These days, Shane Mauss is exploring the meaning of life.
“I really like to talk about some of our subconscious decision making,” he says. “I’m also bi-polar and have been writing material about that recently. And then there are the struggles to improve my life and this journey we’re all on.”
Last year he did a tour of 111 cities with a show called Good Trip. “It was about psychedelics and people turned out to be very interested in the subject matter,” he says.
Talking about psychedelics is really just a leaping off point for Mauss to discuss psychology and consciousness in an interesting way.
His podcast, Here We Are, also informs his stand-up set. “I interview a lot of neuroscientists, psychologists and behavioral economists, and then I kind of work some of that stuff into my act.”
