Whether you're in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, the Reds' opening day is a proper excuse to party in the streets.

Across from The Banks and over the Ohio River, Covington's Roebling Point will be celebrating Reds' opening day on April 12 with a block party featuring food, drinks and three live musical performances.
The event doubles as a celebration of the Reds' opening day and recent re-opening of the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge to vehicular traffic for the first time in over a year.

Businesses in the Roebling Point District teamed up to host the block party and set-up a live music stage at the corners of Court Street and Park Street, effectively closing the streets to traffic for the day.

Guests are invited to start the party as early as 11 a.m., five hours before the Cincinnati Reds first pitch against the Cleveland Guardians at 4:10 p.m., and join for the after-party with live music playing until 10 p.m.

The scheduled lineup will consist of Derek Alan Band from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m., Floyd & The Walkmen 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and The Kevin McCoy Band from 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

Hungry opening day revelers can indulge in fare from Smoke Justis, Molly Malone's Irish Pub & Restaurant, Keystone Bar & Grill and Frosthaus. Patrons will also be able to sip on 16-ounce Budweiser, Bud Light and Michelob Ultra pours for $5 at participating locations.

Parking can be found on the street, public lots and in parking garages — all of which are approximately a 20-minute walk to Great American Ballpark.

In addition to Roebling Point's block party, Reds fans can celebrate the return of the team with a number of other events taking place throughout Cincinnati on April 12. The game will be preceded by Cincinnati's iconic Findlay Market Opening Day Parade, for which Reds lifer Barry Larkin will serve as grand marshal. A number of bars, restaurants and communities are hosting additional pre-game activities, and GABP is ready with new menu items for hungry fans.

Event begins at 11 a.m. April 12. Roebling Point District, Covington. More info:  Facebook.
