Escaping to Cancun from the Queen City for a tropical getaway is relatively easy and accessible thanks to CVG's partnership with Viva Aerobus, a Mexican carrier line known for their low-cost trips.

And soon, folks in need of some sand between their toes can explore a different Mexican vacation hot spot via nonstop flights through the same carrier.

CVG announced on March 24 that the airport will begin featuring a seasonal route to Los Cabos from May 29 to Aug. 8 through a new partnership.

“We are pleased to partner with Viva Aerobus and Vacation Express to provide the only nonstop service from the region to Los Cabos,” says Candace McGraw, chief executive officer at CVG Airport in a release. “Local travelers can now book directly with Viva Aerobus or book their entire vacation package through Vacation Express to the west coast of Mexico, a growing leisure destination for our region.”

The Cincinnati to Los Cabos flights will be available once a week, with trips departing on Sundays and returning to Cincinnati on Saturdays.

"The popularity of Los Cabos for vacationers from the Midwest is increasing year over year and our nonstop flights provide our clients with easy access to the destination at a great value,” said Rene Jongmans, President, Vacation Express. “Packages including airfare, hotel and transfers are now available and we are seeing lots of momentum from people eager to embrace the warmth of the beach again."

Airbus A320, the aircraft model used for these trips, holds 186 passengers and is one of North America's youngest aircraft fleets.

Flights can be purchased through Viva Aerobus or Vacation Express. Learn about the flight line's COVID-19 protocols.
