A day just for the girls, Galentine’s Day began as a recurring event celebrated by Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knope and friends on the hit show Parks and Recreation. It traditionally takes place on Feb. 13, but any day is a good day to hang out with your BFFs.

FEBRUARY 12

Galentine’s Day Cupcake Decorating and Dessert Sampling at 3 Sweet Girls Cakery — Decorate your own cupcakes at a cupcake sundae bar while noshing on other sweet treats. DIY Galentine’s Day at the Candle Lab — Brittany from The Evergreen Designs leads this workshop featuring DIY projects and candle making. Each ticket includes a wood sign, canvas pillow or welcome mat, plus paint and stencils and an 8-ounce candle. Make your own custom fragrance to pour into a scented candle and then make your own DIY project while they cool. 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12. $57-$77. Parks and Rec Galentine's Day at the Righteous Room — The Righteous Room is going full Parks and Rec for this party, which includes themed games like Pin the Mustache on Ron Swanson, a Pawnee-themed photo booth and a guest appearance by Lil Sebastian. There will also be $3 champagne flutes and rose pours and a special raffle to win a waffle pack from Taste of Belgium, a $50 4EG Gift card, a Parks and Rec wine glass, a bottle of syrup and more silly Parks and Rec-themed and friendship-themed prizes. 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13. One Night One Craft: Cladies Night at the CAC — Ceramic and clay artist Julia Lipovsky heads to the Contemporary Arts Center for an evening of crafting, plus wine and cheese. Galentine’s Day at the American Sign Museum — Head to the neon wonderland that is the American Sign Museum for a special ladies-only party featuring 12 wine tastings, paired light bites from the Phoenix and access to the entire museum. Galentine's Day at Fibonacci Brewing Co. — The third-annual Galentine's celebration will feature a pastry stout, a wine cocktail, cupcakes, comedy from Luna Malbroux and burgers from female-owned Burger World 46. Galentine’s Day Floral Workshop with Eve Floral Company — Evelyn Streeter of Eve Floral Co. will lead this class featuring "friendship, flowers and food."
