The seventh installment of Cincinnati’s action-packed Big Wheel race for adults, Danger Wheel, is taking over the streets of Pendleton this July.

64 three-person teams will compete in the race July 30 with proceeds benefiting “beautification and programming of Pendleton,” per a release from Danger Wheel organizers.

Contestants will race on adult-sized Big Wheels through downhill courses over two blocks of the neighborhood that will change throughout the day of the competition.

The title of “Danger Champion” will be awarded to the fasted of the bunch. Races start at 2 p.m. and continue until there is a champion, which organizers say will probably be around sunset.

“Cincinnati’s Pendleton neighborhood is thrilled to see Danger Wheel back for its seventh year, tearing up the streets with some Wheely Big fun,” said Andrew Salzbrun, owner of Nation Kitchen & Bar.

The outdoor event, which organizers say will happen rain or shine, will also have tons of stuff for onlookers including beer from local breweries like Braxton, MadTree, Rhinegiest and 50 West. Plus food trucks and snacks from neighborhood eateries like Pendalo Wingery, Lucius Q, Hart & Cru and Nation Kitchen & Bar.

Danger Wheel is located at 12th Street and Broadway streets in Pendleton. Attending the event is free; registering for a team of three costs $125. Find more information at dangerwheel.com.
