The unofficial cue of summer has been signaled.
Harrison's Green Acres Kayak Rental has announced their anticipated season opening date. And there is quite possibly no better cure for the rough year we have all endured than sippin' on an ice cold beverage while floating on the Whitewater River in the sunshine.
Get your koozies, water shoes and sunscreen ready for May 1 — weather and water conditions depending, of course.
If you didn't get a chance to visit Green Acres last summer, traditional operations have shifted a bit to allow for safer trips for their guests.
You must book your date and pay for your trip online in advance. They're currently only offering their 8-mile trip, and guests must be 12 years or older and over 75 pounds. No dogs or large coolers are permitted, and the livery is only offering single kayaks at this time. Trips start at $26.75 and increase by $8 on weekends or holidays.
Green Acres Kayak Rental is located at 10465 Suspension Bridge Road, Harrison. For more info, visit greenacrescanoe.com.
