Support local artists and become immersed in Cincinnati’s art community at the second annual ArtWorks Art Off the Walls fundraiser.

The fundraiser will be held Saturday, Sept. 30 at the First Financial Club at TQL Stadium in the West End from 6-10 p.m. A celebration of creativity, Art Off the Walls offers the opportunity to support ArtWorks’ mission to create community-based public art, which in turn creates job opportunities for artists of all ages. It’s also the chance to recognize ArtWorks’ artists and the murals they’ve painted.

Each year, Art Off the Walls will celebrate a different neighborhood. Last year, the inaugural event, “Let’s Get Campy,” was held in Camp Washington. This year, the organization is highlighting the rich history of the West End with “Kick It in the West End.”

ArtWorks says the murals and public art across the West End will play an important role in crafting the essence of the evening to make Art Off the Walls unforgettable. The venue, TQL Stadium, even has four ArtWorks murals in partnership with FC Cincinnati that were designed to represent the West End.

“This neighborhood has been a source of inspiration for numerous citizens and artists across the region,” ArtWorks, which has produced more than 10 large-scale public murals in the neighborhood, said in a press release. “In addition, the enduring legacies of West End legends Ezzard Charles and Mamie Smith come alive through captivating ArtWorks murals. "Ezzard Charles: The Cincinnati Cobra," was masterfully designed by Jason Snell and made its debut in OTR in 2015. Similarly, the "Dreaming Blues" mural, featuring the iconic Mamie Smith, was the result of Julia Bottoms’ artistic vision.”

Art Off the Walls will feature ArtWorks mural projections and light installations from Brave Berlin, music from DJ Monet and a dance performance by Pones, featuring ArtWorks apprentices. There will also be live and silent auctions of work from acclaimed artists, as well as experiences like an Art Soccer Ball signed by an FC Cincinnati player and a photo booth. Local 12 anchor Bob Herzog will emcee the event, and there will be a complimentary full bar with wine, beer and cocktails; passed hors d’oeuvres; dinner stations; late-night snacks; and coffee. Parking will also be complimentary.

There will also be a ticketed pre-party from 5-6 p.m. where guests can mingle with honorary guest artists, ArtWorks mural designers and former FC Cincinnati player Austin Berry over champagne and hors d’oeuvres. Pre-party guests also get early, in-person access to the Art Off the Walls silent auction.

“Your support of this event helps our city come to life,” Kim Hoeting, event chair, said in the release. “ArtWorks creates opportunities for talented artists and apprentices throughout our region, connecting up-and-coming artists with seasoned creatives to produce one-of-a-kind pieces for all to enjoy. We love that the citywide murals are not only beautiful to look at, but tell important stories about life, history and principles we should all strive to live by.”

Tickets are on sale now at artworks.org and prices run between $100-$500. Anyone who purchases a ticket for $275 or more can attend the pre-party.
