ArtsWave has announced that they are offering one-time grants to local artists and organizations that will help expand the local light-art show BLINK Cincinnati.
The Fall 2022 Mini-Grant Program will give artists the opportunity to tangentially help with the popular BLINK festival that is coming to Cincinnati Oct. 13-16.
ArtsWave said in a release that each project under the mini-grant will follow the theme of BLINK “where the community comes together to play.” The artists will not be a part of the official BLINK festival, but the new “ancillary and adjacent BLINK experience” ‘Local Illuminations.’
BLINK has been having a lot of changes recently, with the plans to expand into Northern Kentucky and the loss of founding partner Brave Berlin.
Cincinnati area-based artists of “all artistic disciplines” are encouraged by ArtsWave to apply for the grant. Applicants may apply for up to $2,500 per project or 50% of the project’s budget. ArtsWave is offering 25-35 grants, with the average grant expected to range between $1,000-$1,500.
Grants will be awarded based on eligibility and the “extent to which it is innovative, artistic in nature and complementary to BLINK’s theme of ‘play’.”
Applications are due Aug. 2 and the grants will be awarded around Aug. 26. Interested artists can find more information at the July 26 information session that can be found here or online at artswave.org.
