From the wooded hills of Mohican State Park to the idyllic coastlines of Kelleys Island State Park, Ohio boasts plenty of destinations for experienced and novice campers alike to enjoy the great outdoors.

A recent analysis by Lawn Love, a national lawn care marketplace, named Ohio the sixth-best state to camp in 2022.

In their recent report, "2022’s Best States for Camping," Lawn Love used 17 different factors that fell under the categories of access, quality, costs, supplies and safety to rank each state's camping experience.

Ohio ranked fourth overall in number of outdoor attractions, seventh overall in camping quality and eighth overall in safety.
Especially given its numerous National Parks and miles of rugged coastline, California was awarded the distinction of being the best state in the country for camping. Washington, Minnesota, Michigan and Florida followed to place in second, third, fourth and fifth place, respectively, just ahead of Ohio.
