Meet some new fishy friends and also have a chance to win season tickets during an underwater scavenger hunt at the Newport Aquarium this fall.
Now through Nov. 19, test your searching skills at the Underwater Scavenger Hunt Around the World.
To play, participants must search for scavenger hunt signs, which will lead them to exhibits where there are 12 hidden globes. Keep your eyes peeled, because they say the globes could be anywhere inside the tanks, like at the top of the aquarium or nestled with the animals.
"The Underwater Scavenger Hunt is meant to help guests to relax and change their perspective so they don’t miss out on any of the aquarium’s fascinating creatures," says the aquarium in a release. "While searching through the underwater environments for the hidden globes, you’re sure to see everything."
Collect the letters from a mystery phrase on each of the globes. Then, find a QR code on the final sign by the Shark Bridge, scan the code and type out the mystery phrase. The aquarium says this will automatically enter you to win a four-pack of 2022 annual passes.
“The magic is in slowing down and looking just a little bit closer,” says Rebecca Foster, Newport Aquarium’s executive director. “When you do, you’re always rewarded with something special that you may have overlooked before.”
Join the hunt any day of the week during aquarium operating times. Find contest rules here.
The Newport Aquarium is located at 1 Levee Way, Newport, and is open daily.
